Bespoke GRP Kiosks Supplied to Support Environmental Monitoring Throughout Northern Ireland

T-T Controls & Automation® were proud to support a critical water quality monitoring project in Northern Ireland with the supply of specially designed GRP walk-in kiosks. Commissioned by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (DAERA) and in partnership with AFBI, the kiosks were deployed on riverbanks throughout the Lough Neagh catchment area to house water analysis equipment.

This infrastructure would feed into a larger catchment monitoring project to enable data gathering and environmental management of one of the region's largest freshwater ecosystems.

Project Requirements

Supply of 7 x IP55-rated walk-in GRP kiosks to contain sensitive water quality monitoring equipment.
Each kiosk was specified to include double doors, cylinder locks, stainless steel door stays, and lifting eyes for secure access and safe handling.
Strict government procurement process via an official e-commerce portal.
Firm delivery deadline of 30/04/25, requiring completion within a challenging six-week timeframe.
Offloading and direct delivery were required at rural riverbank locations throughout Northern Ireland.
Completion of the project within a strict budget.

Our Approach

To meet the specific demands of this government-funded project, T-T provided a complete, end-to-end managed solution:

Specification & Sourcing

We provided weatherproof GRP kiosks to satisfy all technical, security, and access requirements—within the tight budget parameters of the customer. The enclosures were designed for long-term external application, creating a shielded environment for internal components in severe environments.

Quality Assurance

A full Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) was carried out on the first unit to ensure compliance with both client specification and our own high standards of quality. The remaining six kiosks were then produced within a 2-week period to meet the overall 6-week lead time from receipt of order.

Logistics & Delivery

Despite riverside deployment site access restrictions, we arranged specialist HIAB delivery from our works in conjunction with a dedicated haulage contractor. All kiosks were delivered on time and in immaculate condition.
