Rapid Supply of 110kW Boreholes Pumps for Mine Dewatering

A leading construction materials group with a prominent slate mine in North Wales came to T-T looking to increase the capacity of their dewatering pumps.
They wanted the new pump to achieve a flow rate of 100 litres a second and to be suitable for installation into a 50-metre-deep shaft, emphasising the importance of availability to their order.
T-T Pump’s® tendering engineers specified the 110kW motor S302 borehole pump from SAER Elettropompe, as it matched the client’s desired performance rates, can withstand the mine’s demanding environment and was readily available from stock. With the model chosen, our team worked with SAER sales support to promptly provide a quote for the customer to review, and thanks to the excellent availability, the customer placed an order for two pumps instead of one.
The S302 semi-axial electric pump was selected for its reliability in harsh applications, having undergone extensive testing by SAER to ensure its suitability for a variety of industries, including oil, gas, offshore and mining applications.
Composed of cast iron and stainless-steel components, with high wear resistant rubber bearings and sealing rings, the submersible pump offers great reliability in tough conditions. Both pumps were also supplied with an additional 80 metres of cable, fitted by SAER and prepared to accommodate variable speed control.
Specifically, the S-302A/2A variant was supplied as it easily meets the parameters of the application without oversizing causing excess energy usage:
- Maximum flow rate of 116 litres a second
- Maximum submersion depth of 200 metres
- Maximum temperature of pumped liquid 30°C
Having received and installed their new dewatering pumps, the client commended the build quality of the pumps, the excellent turnaround and the general service from T-T and SAER team members.
