Surface Mounted Centrifugal Pumps for Sewage Handling

The T-T Pumps® team were recently contacted by a key UK client who needed expert support in sizing and specifying a pair of surface mounted pumps suitable for sewage transferal on a site with strict installation restrictions.
The Problem
Submersible pumps are typically selected for sewage handling applications as they are designed to be strong and corrosion resistant to withstand permanent submersion in a potentially corrosive environment.
However, installation restrictions imposed by existing site infrastructure necessitated suitable surface mounted alternatives for the client’s sewage pumping needs.
The Solution
T-T Pumps® Sales Engineers selected the Varisco ST Range of self-priming end suction centrifugal pumps for the job. These pumps exhibit rapid self-priming from a maximum depth of 7.5m for faster startups and are designed to manage large solids without faltering, ideal for effective sewage handling.
Pumps in Varisco’s ST Range feature a two-vane semi-open impeller that can handle suspended solids up to 3” (76mm) in diameter, backed by a strong and corrosion resistant cast iron body with wear plates and stainless-steel internal components for reliable waste management.
