T-T Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week

As T-T marks its 60th year in business, the company is proud to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, running from 3rd-9th February 2020. The T-T team has been actively promoting its apprenticeship programs, emphasising the importance of developing and supporting the next generation of engineers.

Each year, T-T welcomes new apprentices, providing them with hands-on experience across various engineering disciplines. Apprentices are paired with work buddies who guide them through different roles, ensuring they receive the best possible support and professional development. This structured approach helps individuals gain a comprehensive understanding of the industry while fostering career growth within the company.

The success of T-T’s apprenticeship programs is evident in the career progression of many employees. Jane, now the Controls and Automation Manager, started as an apprentice in 1990. With company-supported education and training, she advanced through multiple qualifications, ultimately leading her department for over 15 years. Similarly, Camilla, who joined in 2014 as a receptionist, transitioned through various roles with additional training and is now the Project Engineer Team Leader.

Peter Hindley, Commercial Director at T-T, commented, “Our apprenticeship program with Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group is essential in training the next generation of technology-led engineers. We are passionate about providing every individual the opportunity to develop within our company.”

T-T’s dedication to apprenticeships has been recognized with the 2018 Cheshire Business Awards’ Let’s Talk Apprentice Award, highlighting the company’s commitment to nurturing talent. This year’s celebrations also coincide with Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group’s ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating, with promotional materials featuring members of the T-T team displayed across the region.

As T-T continues its legacy of excellence, the company remains committed to investing in the future workforce, ensuring that its apprentices receive the training and support needed to thrive in the engineering industry.
