T-T Shortlisted as Finalist at the 2018 Cheshire Business Awards

T-T is thrilled to announce that the company has been selected as a finalist for the 2018 Cheshire Business Awards. T-T has been shortlisted for two highly regarded categories: the ‘Let’s Talk Apprenticeships Award’ and the ‘Exporter of the Year’ award.
The esteemed Cheshire Business Awards celebrate excellence and outstanding achievements among local businesses and individuals. Winners of certain categories will go on to represent Cheshire at national award events. The ceremony will take place on October 12th at Chester Cathedral, where numerous local businesses will compete across 12 different categories.
A Legacy of Innovation and Growth
Heading into its 60th year, T-T is a well-established supplier and manufacturer of pumps, valves, controls, and pumping stations. The company has been expanding its international presence, taking high-quality products to the global market. T-T’s international sales and marketing strategy ensures that all staff are equipped with the expertise to engage in global trade. Dedicated team members have completed extensive training through the UKTI to develop skills in localisation, logistics, payments, and other international considerations.
T-T has actively participated in leading global trade shows such as The Big 5 in Dubai, the world’s largest construction event, and IFAT in Germany, the premier international exhibition for water, sewage, and wastewater solutions. These events have been instrumental in enhancing T-T’s exposure and fostering strong, long-lasting relationships with customers and suppliers worldwide.
Ben Nash, Sales Director at T-T, commented: “The support from the Department of International Trade has been invaluable to our company’s growth. Our export sales have expanded significantly, making up a substantial portion of our turnover. Being nominated for this award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire team.”
Investing in the Next Generation of Engineers
T-T is equally passionate about fostering the next generation of engineers. The company operates six divisions that require a wide range of engineering expertise, including sales engineers, electrical installation engineers, and design engineers. Committed to developing future talent, T-T offers a variety of apprenticeship programs to help young individuals build successful careers in engineering.
Currently, 30 individuals are either completing or have completed an apprenticeship at T-T. The company has played a crucial role in career progression, supporting apprentices as they advance into engineering or managerial roles. Each year, T-T actively seeks new apprentices and maintains strong partnerships with local schools and colleges, attending career events and offering guidance to prospective students.
Apprentices at T-T are given hands-on experience working on large-scale projects, including infrastructure initiatives such as London Underground, Crossrail, and the M1 widening. This approach allows them to gain invaluable experience in real-world engineering environments.
Jane Delicata, Controls Division Manager at T-T, expressed her excitement about being shortlisted for the ‘Let’s Talk Apprenticeships’ award. “We are thrilled to be recognised for our commitment to supporting young individuals in launching their careers,” she said. “I personally began my journey at T-T through a YTS scheme over 28 years ago. Watching my team members grow from apprentices to fully qualified electrical engineers is what fuels my passion for engineering. I now work with local schools to provide workshops, equipping students with the information they need to make informed career choices.”
Looking Ahead to the Cheshire Business Awards
T-T is proud to be considered for both the ‘Let’s Talk Apprenticeships Award’ and the ‘Exporter of the Year’ award. This recognition highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to excellence in both workforce development and global trade.
The winners will be announced on October 12th at Chester Cathedral, and T-T looks forward to celebrating alongside other outstanding businesses in Cheshire.
