T-T Sponsors 874-Mile Ride For Hope Journey

T-T is incredibly proud to sponsor the Ride For Hope team, a group of nine friends from the small village of Betley, who have embarked on an ambitious journey to cycle 874 miles across the country in just 10 days. The team set off from Lands End on the 3rd of August and will make their way to John O'Groats by the 12th of August, all in the name of raising vital funds for two charities that are close to their hearts.
The charities benefiting from this challenge are The Christie Foundation and My Name'5 Doddie Weir Foundation.
The Christie Foundation, based in Manchester, is a leading cancer center providing lifesaving treatments and conducting essential research to help those affected by cancer.
The My Name’5 Doddie Weir Foundation was created to fund research into the causes of Motor Neuron Disease (MND), work toward finding potential cures, and provide grants for individuals suffering from MND to live as fulfilling a life as possible.
Ben and Barbara from T-T are among the passionate members of the Ride For Hope team. The team has received immense support from T-T, with sponsorship and donations being raised along the way. Ben, who has been a close companion to Doddie for many years, wanted to support the cause after Doddie’s MND diagnosis. Ben shared, “I’m not physically ready for this challenge, but mentally I am, so I know I’m going to get to the end. I hope to raise as much awareness and funds as possible for these two amazing charities. The Ride For Hope team has been incredibly dedicated to their training, and I’m proud to be part of this important cause.”
Barbara has gone above and beyond in her training, cycling 30 miles every day for the past 12 months, even on her commute to work. She said, “If someone had told me two years ago I would be cycling the distance of the United Kingdom, I would have dismissed it instantly. I’m nervous but completely ready for this challenge. I’m proud to be raising money for two charities fighting against such devastating diseases.”
T-T is incredibly proud to be part of this effort and to help the team reach their goal of raising awareness and funds for these vital causes.
