T-T Delivers Added Value Engineering Support for Royal Navy Project

When a Royal Navy training facility needed greater operational flexibility from its pump control system, T-T delivered a smarter solution, without the need for costly modifications.

T-T Controls & Automation® was contracted to design and manufacture two bespoke control panels for 90kW motors as part of a specialist pumping application. The pumps and installation works were delivered by the client, while T-T focused on providing reliable, high-quality motor control solutions designed for demanding operational environments.

Responding Quickly to Changing Requirements

During the project, T-T was approached to support a potential design modification that would allow operators to change motor speeds via a three-position selector switch mounted on the control panel door.

Demonstrating its proactive engineering approach, T-T Controls & Automation® first designed and tested the proposed modification on its in-house test facility to fully validate the solution before any site work was undertaken. This ensured risk was eliminated and any site time would be efficient and productive.

Expertise That Saved Time and Cost

Following a detailed on-site review with the end user, T-T engineers identified a more efficient solution. Rather than modifying the panels, the required functionality could be achieved using the existing Variable Speed Drive (VSD) interface.

This recommendation eliminated the need for unnecessary modification work, reducing cost, avoiding downtime, and maintaining the integrity of the original build.

To ensure maximum benefit, T-T also delivered practical onsite training, ensuring operators could confidently use the existing equipment to achieve the required performance outcomes.
